ASHTANGA YOGA
Thursdays 5.30-7pm, $10 per class or 10 classes for $80.
The classes are small and are very welcoming of beginners of any age or ability. The classes open and close with a mantra. There is a focus on the breath throughout the practice and a lovely relaxation at the end. Suzanne, who has practiced Ashtanga for over 20 years, says that she “really believes in the benefits of yoga for overall health and wellbeing. Your practice allows the mind to cultivate equanimity on and off the mat. The Karangahake Hall is a beautiful space to practice yoga and bring together people.” Bring a mat if you have one and a blanket.
